We are SO EXCITED for our big day right around the corner!
*Tuesday/Thursday Classes have a 9:00 am Dress Rehearsal and a 3:30 pm dance recital.
*Monday/Wednesday Classes have an 11:30 am Dress Rehearsal and a 6:30 pm dance recital.
Costumes, Tights and Shoes are required for dress rehearsal! Please arrive 30 minutes prior to rehearsal and recital to ensure you get your dancer dropped off in plenty of time. You may sit in the audience during rehearsal, or you may leave if you would like to.
Please ONLY bring the clear costume bag your dancer was sent home with to recital. All shoes and accessories can go in that bag and be zipped up in it. and that is all we will need backstage with them. We have an approved safety plan we have coordinated with GISD to ensure everyone is taken care of. 80% of my recital staff is working both recitals and will be able to guide you with anything you need. They will be wearing their pink recital staff shirt so you will be able to pick them out easily!
Only Water will be allowed backstage. With us splitting the show in half, there will not be time for toys and games as it will go so quickly. NO FOOD IS ALLOWED so please do not pack snacks in their clear bags.
Upon Arrival, one parent may bring them to the hallway to check them in. I have staffing and security that will be present everywhere. You will check your dancer in and we will take them to their assigned room. Their big sisters/little sisters will be assigned the same room.
We have makeshift dressing rooms in each room that they can change behind if they are more comfortable that way. You are also welcome to purchase a nude leotard with CLEAR STRAPS on amazon and they can wear that the entire time under their costume if you prefer, or are worried about them changing. The entire backstage is all females. There will be no males present, and we will have security there. Only my recital staff is allowed backstage. Trust me, after 43 years, I promise I got this!
Something fun for dancers is you can send a little gift with your dancer to give their big sister/little sister. Nothing Major and it’s not required. It’s just something fun for them to do together if you choose to. That can go in their bag as well.
After their final dance in the show, you may proceed down the hallway to check them out. They will not be released to a sibling, an adult must sign them out. They can sit with you for the rest of the show, or they can stay backstage and watch. Whichever you choose, please allow them to come up on stage at the end to dance with me, and to get their award.
Expect the recital to last approx 2 hours or less total! YAY!!!
